What They Are Looking For

1. Innovation: Establish a consortium to develop technologies for enhanced manufacturing processes, leading to increased efficiency and speed in the pharmaceutical supply chain.

2. Collaboration: Projects must demonstrate collaborative R&D across supply chains.

Funding and Project Size

• Duration and Costs: Total project grant request must be between £2 million and £4 million.

Key Criteria

• Technological Scope: From laboratory automation to AI-informed decision support, a variety of technologies are in scope.
• Project Outcomes: Must include economic, health, environmental, and social benefits, such as job creation, patient access, and sustainability.

Specific Themes

Projects should aim to:

• Lower manufacturing costs

• Reduce environmental impact
• Increase patient access
• Increase productivity
• Improve efficiency
• Accelerate data processing

Research Categories

• Types of Research: Feasibility projects, industrial research projects, and experimental development projects will be funded.

Exclusions

• Projects dependent on export performance or domestic inputs usage are excluded.
