Business Development Manager

We're looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to continue the company’s growth.

Are you someone who can demonstrate delivering sales targets on a consistent basis, whilst maintaining a consultative sales ethos, and delivering a range of strategic business development/sales coaching activities? If so, this could be the post for you!

In this role, you'd be responsible for developing effective business development activities to increase client awareness of our full service suite.

The Business Development Manager will be proficient in pipeline and account management, and will have a professional, tenacious approach to B2B sales. They will also be comfortable and confident in managing the sales cycle from prospect to closing and follow-up. You will put the requirements of the client first and foremost with the ability to positively influence at an executive level.

Other key requirements of the role

  • Source, secure and grow a portfolio of clients
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of leads
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Report regularly on KPIs and deliver accurate projections from pipeline
  • Negotiate and close solutions with organisations of all sizes
  • Attend and host events across the UK to promote our services
  • Build relationships with potential business and channel partners to generate referrals
  • Design and deliver sales and technical workshops

Skills and experience we're looking for

  • 2+ years' sales account management experience
  • Deep understanding of marketing principles
  • Ability to prioritise activities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Able to align pipeline with internal departmental resource expectations
  • Strong business acumen
  • Able to forge credible relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proactive, methodical approach in developing new business opportunities
  • Self-motivated, a desire to achieve excellence in a consultancy services environment
  • Outstanding communicator


  • Degree in Science and Technology (2.1 or above)


£35,000 – £40,000 pa

IT Support Technician Apprentice

The role will involve installing and maintaining computer systems and networks.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Setting up workstations with computers and peripheral devices
  • Checking hardware to ensure functionality
  • Installing and configuring software
  • Developing and maintaining local networks to optimise performance
  • Ensuring security and privacy of networks and systems
  • Providing guidance to users
  • Supporting the management team in developing new software systems and processes
  • Organising efficient upgrades and maintenance
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving problems
  • Maintaining records of repairs, fixes and maintenance
  • Identify equipment shortages and place orders

R&D Tax Consultant

We're looking for a recent graduate, preferably in science or engineering, to support our clients as an R&D Tax Consultant

You'll be working with a range of amazing clients, from SMEs to large organisations, in sectors including artificial intelligence, manufacturing, medical and clean technologies.
We exist to help our clients grow, and a vital component of our support is an outstanding R&D Tax Credit service. Word is getting around about our high success rates, so we need to grow our team! 

What you will do as an R&D Tax Consultant
  • Liaise with clients throughout the full R&D Tax Credit claim cycle
  • Qualify and optimise claims
  • Collate information relating to innovative projects
  • Research similar markets and technology
  • Analyse / interpret financial data to identify claim value
  • Write / complete claim paperwork
  • Understand technical complexities of clients' R&D activities
  • Advise clients on how to interpret R&D guidelines
  • Write compelling technical project reports, highlighting key tech factors to supporting claims
  • Ensure R&D claims meet relevant tax legislation / guidelines
  • Liaise with accountants and financial specialists to prepare HMRC submission documents
  • Manage and be responsible for engagement, delivery and client relationships
  • Maintain specialist knowledge of R&D tax credit legislation, guidlelines and HMRC pratice

Does this sound like you?
  • Graduate (2.1 or above) in Science, Engineering or Technical subject
  • Or you may be a tax professional, with a specialism in R&D Tax credits
  • Proven experience working on projects (this could have been as part of your degree)
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Fabulous all-round communication skills
  • Great with numbers
  • Know your way round Excel, pivot tables, data cleansing etc.
  • Able to conduct structure discussions with technical and finance staff
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain strict confidentiality

We're looking for a Senior Innovation Advisor to join our fabulous team here in Warrington

The team delivers Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and Innovate2Succeed (I2S) business support programmes to SMEs.

You'll work closely with businesses to analyse existing innovation management capabilities and barriers, helping to provide an action plan to improve innovation systems, practices, and business success.
Business success is measured in terms of bringing new products to market, creation of new jobs, introducing new products/technologies into the company for increased productivity, increased turnover etc.

  • Account managing a portfolio of clients and delivering a programme of support
  • Acting as a coach/mentor to support clients
  • Developing innovation management and commercialisation strategies with clients

Successful candidates  

  • Educated to degree level and/or equivalent professional qualification
  • Understand local business support infrastructures

  • Understand sales channels and sources of finance for SMEs
  • Experience of assessing risks for businesses
  • Experience using business diagnostic and benchmarking tools
  • Passionate about achieving best outcome for clients

  • You might even have experience of product design, ideation or design thinking

This role is based in Warrington, with regular travel to client SMEs across the North West. For this reason, it's likely you'll have a full driving license and transport.
