Overview: NHS England invites applications for innovations that facilitate the early detection and diagnosis of cancer. This initiative aligns with the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) to increase the proportion of early-stage cancer diagnoses and improve patient survival rates.

Goals:

· 75% of cancer diagnoses at stage one or two by 2028.

· An additional 55,000 people surviving cancer for at least five years.

Innovation Scope:

· Open to various types of innovations, including medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, AI, and new care models.

· Emphasis on innovations that address health inequalities in early cancer diagnosis.

Funding:

· Innovations will be 100% funded, up to £4 million (excluding VAT) over a maximum of 24 months.

Support and Collaboration:

· Led by the NHS Cancer Programme with support from SBRI Healthcare and the Accelerated Access Collaborative.

· Cancer Alliances play a crucial role in facilitating the adoption of innovations.
