Overview of the Programme and Its Objectives
The CYberSynchrony project has launched three Open Calls under its Financial Support to Third Parties scheme, with a total budget of €3.55 million. The calls aim to strengthen cybersecurity resilience, regulatory readiness, and cross-border cooperation across Europe by funding deployment-ready solutions aligned with NIS2 priorities.
The programme focuses on practical activities rather than early-stage research. Supported projects are expected to deliver concrete improvements in cybersecurity capabilities within a short timeframe, contributing directly to operational resilience and coordinated responses to cyber threats.
Areas in Scope
The three Open Calls support projects across the following focus areas:
• Infrastructure resilience and operational readiness within NIS2 sectors such as energy, transport, water, and manufacturing
• Cybersecurity compliance and innovation, including tools and frameworks that support alignment with EU regulatory requirements
• Cross-border cybersecurity collaboration between Member States, including shared platforms, joint exercises, and coordinated response mechanisms
Depending on the call, projects may be submitted by single organisations or small consortia of two to three partners.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include SMEs and start-ups, research organisations and universities, public sector bodies and competent authorities, non-profits and NGOs, and experienced cybersecurity professionals.
Applicants must be established in countries eligible under the Digital Europe Programme and must comply with the rules set out in the CYberSynchrony FSTP guidelines. Some calls are open only to consortia, while others allow single-entity submissions led by SMEs.
