Overview
The Agentic AI Pioneers Prize is designed to spotlight and fund the most promising examples of agentic AI applied to real-world design challenges. The prize begins with an Expression of Interest stage and progresses to a second phase, where selected teams develop and present their solutions to expert panels.
Eligibility
The competition is open to UK-registered organisations of any size. Applicants must demonstrate their capability and readiness to apply agentic AI to a specific design challenge within one of three focus sectors: advanced manufacturing, health and life sciences, or the creative industries. The Expression of Interest stage assesses each organisation’s intent, experience, and potential to deliver innovative AI-driven design solutions.
Scope
Projects must explore the application of multi-agent AI to address design challenges that improve efficiency, creativity, or sustainability. Proposals should demonstrate how AI models can autonomously interact, generate new ideas, or optimise design processes in measurable ways. The focus is on innovation and practical impact within the chosen sector.
Key Dates
After the Expression of Interest stage, selected teams will progress to the development phase in December 2025. This stage includes one-to-one mentorship from the Catapult Network and the submission of a project report by 23 February 2026. Finalist interviews will take place in March 2026, followed by the announcement of up to four winners.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted through the Innovate UK Innovation Funding Service portal. Entrants should review the guidance carefully, identify the most relevant challenge statement, and prepare evidence of their technical expertise and design-led innovation.
