DANUBElifelines Call for Associated Regions

The DANUBElifelines (DLL) Call for Associated Regions invites five new regions to join the DLL mission of restoring migratory fish populations across the Danube River Basin. Through this call, selected regions will receive technical support, access to expert knowledge, and up to €100,000 to implement practical restoration measures.

Type of Projects

Projects should support one or more of the following areas:

• Habitat restoration for migratory fish
• Monitoring and planning actions
• Feasibility studies for dam removal
• River connectivity improvements
• Removal of migration barriers
• Stakeholder engagement and awareness activities
• Development of sustainable business models linked to restoration

Eligible Applicants

The call is open to:

• Local authorities
• Regional authorities

Eligible countries include:

• EU Member States
• EEA countries
• ENP associated countries

Note: Entities located in DLL partner countries (Austria (AT), The Netherlands (NL), Hungary (HU), Germany (DE), Serbia (RS), United Kingdom (UK), Romania (RO), Slovakia (SK), Slovenia (SI), Spain (ES), Bulgaria (BG)) or under EU restrictive measures are not eligible.

Project Timeline

Projects must align with the DANUBElifelines project schedule and must be completed by 30 April 2029.

Funding and Reimbursement

• Maximum funding: €100,000 per region
• Funding rate: 100 percent
• Only actual incurred costs can be reimbursed
• Payment schedule:
  • 40 percent at grant signature
  • 40 percent interim payment
  • 20 percent final payment
