Sectors:

Project Size:
Up to £2 million

Overview of the Programme

Innovate UK is investing up to £2 million to support SMEs in advancing innovative solutions within advanced manufacturing supply chains.

The competition is designed to help businesses unlock barriers to commercialisation and scaling, focusing on technologies that improve supply chain efficiency and resilience. It targets companies that have already developed a prototype or minimum viable product and are now looking to progress towards market readiness.

Projects should deliver improvements that enhance productivity, reduce reliance on external inputs, or strengthen the robustness of UK-based supply chains across priority manufacturing sectors.

What the Programme Supports

The competition supports pre-commercialisation projects that strengthen supply chain performance across advanced manufacturing industries.

Projects should:

  • build on existing prototypes or MVPs (TRL 6 or above)
  • improve resource efficiency or supply chain resilience
  • demonstrate potential to scale across multiple frontier industries

Eligible supply chain areas include: automotive, aerospace, advanced materials, batteries, agri-tech and space.

Who Can Apply

The competition is open to UK-registered micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

  • SMEs must apply as single applicants
  • all project work must be carried out in the UK
  • applicants must intend to exploit project results within the UK
  • Subcontractors are permitted, including overseas suppliers where justified.

Funding and Support Available
