Photocentric, based in Peterborough, is a specialist manufacturer and innovator with the ambition of printing plastic and ceramic parts for the world, in a scale previously not imaginable.

 

It needed to understand how best to scale the business to achieve its ambition. Once accepted onto Innovate UK EDGE’s Scaleup Programme in 2020, it was able to restructure its business units and implement a new product development system to enable good ideas to become great products much more efficiently.

 

Photocentric has expanded its manufacturing space by 80k ft2 and has made a £3m investment in R&D space at the new Peterborough University campus. During 2020 it doubled the size of the business (£11m to £21.5m) and is looking to double again in 2021. It increased employees in the UK from 115 to 141 in 2020 and invested in its US business.
