Innovate UK is organising a fully funded Global Business Accelerator Programme

Innovate UK is organising a fully funded Global Business Accelerator Programme to explore business, research, development and innovation opportunities for UK businesses in the US offshore wind sector.

A delegation of 20 businesses are being selected to participate in the programme and visit the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum in New Jersey between 2nd and 7th April 2018.  The delegation will be accompanied by a panel of 8 offshore wind experts who will be scoping the market and identifying the opportunities where the UK supply chain can add value.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet US offshore wind suppliers, buyers, research centres and key stakeholders, with the aim of developing strong international partnerships for future commercial, research and development collaborations.

The US offshore wind market is anticipated to grow substantially over the coming years with a target of reaching 20 GW by 2030. The current offshore wind project pipeline is estimated to be 24,135 MW, with 14,785 MW under developers control.  The UK is the world leader in offshore wind in terms of installed and planned capacity, and the maturity of our supply chain provides UK businesses with an opportunity to provide the emerging US market with our skills, knowledge and technological innovations.

The programme is seeking 20 UK small to medium enterprises involved in all elements of the offshore wind lifecycle and supply chain, including:

  • Development, design and engineering
  • Construction
  • Operations, maintenance and training
