It was recently announced by CLRC that the Daresbury Synchrotron Radiation Source (SRS) is planned for phased reduction and closure by the end of 2008. This has created an opportunity for the SR Computing Group to spin-out a new company and commercially exploit the high levels of technical and computational capabilities residing within the team.
